Block Protocol

At a glance

The community member is currently using Typedream, which they find easier to use than Webflow, but it is not open-source. They are looking for an open-source alternative similar to Typedream and are considering the Block Protocol, which is not ready yet. Useful resources
Hi everyone, thank you for hosting and building. I am currently using Typedream which I find much easier than Webflow to use, but it is not Open Source. I am looking for a Typedream like solution open source. I am looking at Block Protocol but it is not ready yet. What do you think ? https://github.com/blockprotocol

Saying something is a standard and actually becoming one is not the same.

They are trying to build a spec for composable UI blocks that can fetch data and do anything inside.

While this seems like a good idea, in practice on the web due to fragmentation with all sorts of frameworks, this approach is similar to microfrontends, going to lead to a huge bloat once you start many of these blocks created by different vendors.
While I understand the desire to build this, I don't see this becoming an actual standard ever.
It will cover a bunch of use cases the company behind it needs, but that's about it.
